Frederick and Oleanna Potter are an amazing team who together have created works that have been celebrated throughout the world. Published in numerous magazines, newspapers and on national television, their works have received over one hundred international awards and have appeared in art galleries in several countries.
Frederick has been shooting professionally for over 30 years. Trained formally in the photographic arts, Frederick learned his trade before digital cameras existed and as such developed critical skills that are lacking in the new generation of photographers. With film, everything has to be perfect from the moment the shutter is pressed and since film was expensive, one learned to make every frame count. These habits have become a lifetime skill. Today, many upcoming photographers have become extremely sloppy in their work and believe that since they are shooting digital, they can just shoot hundreds of frames and pick the best or try to fix their poor technical abilities in Photoshop. This attitude shows in their work and is especially a problem with shooting weddings. A wedding is a one time event and every moment counts. Re-shoots are not possible. A fleeting moment lost can never be recaptured again.
Frederick has the training and experience to be able to capture those elusive precious moments frame after frame and with superb technical quality. His experience as a glamour and fashion photographer dovetails perfectly with wedding photography as much of the atmosphere surrounding a wedding is all about glamour.
Oleanna is one of the most significant factors that sets Editions by Frederick apart from other studios. From the first consultation, through the makeover and photo shoot to the final viewing, she is a key element in creating the amazing European style of photo art that Editions by Frederick has become famous for.
Born and raised in eastern Europe, Oleanna has a flair for style and fashion that is rare to find in North America. Europe has always been the birthplace of all of the world's greatest fashion accomplishments and Oleanna brings to the table some of the most significant influences in the glamour and boudoir photography industry in the new millennium.
Oleanna's experience with hair styling, high fashion makeup, costume and clothing design as well as many years of professional modelling experience make her the ideal mentor for any woman who strives to achieve that special look that they have not been able to accomplish with other North American studios. Oleanna's work has been published around the world and recently CTV has decided to do a special segment on their Alberta Prime Time television series featuring Oleanna, her style and her achievements as a model.
