Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many photos can I expect to be taken?
A: It varies with the amount of time booked. We are shooting high resolution digital images and so we don't have to worry about the volume. We will shoot as much as possible within the time allotted but most clients see 200-400 images.
Q: What kind of camera equipment do you use?
A: We use a Canon 5D MII which has a high resolution sensor and produces finished files that are suitable for enlargements up to 40x60 inches.
Q: Will all of the images be retouched?
A: Every image will be post processed for optimal color, clarity, fidelity and sharpness. Special requests for retouching such as removing backgrounds, special effects, facial blemish removal or other requests such as these are billed out at $40 per image.
Q: Can I get wedding albums from you as well?
A: Of course! When it comes to wedding albums, there are so many options that it is impossible to list prices for every possibility. It would be best to sit down after you have reviewed the images so we can plan and quote a custom package for you.
Q: How long before we see our proofs?
A: Usually as soon as you return from your honeymoon. About two weeks is average.
Q: Do you shoot color or B&W?
A: I shoot a RAW digital format which allows me to post process the file into any color space I wish including B&W, sepia or a variety of other effects without losing quality. From these I can create JPEG images but I would never shoot these in camera because of the loss of information and quality of these file formats.
Q: Would you ever send an associate to shoot our wedding?
A: No. Every wedding is shot by myself. While I have an assistant accompany me on all shoots, she is there to assist me in my work. You are hiring us both but I will do the actual photography.
Q: Do you mind if other people take photos during our wedding?
A: Not at all. Since you are getting all of the high resolution images on DVD anyway, their photos will not take away from my business. However, I would ask that they do not block my shots or it will only be you who will suffer. They need to understand that they will have access to the digital images as well (if you choose to provide them) and so they might as well sit back and enjoy the day as my shots will most definitely be better than they will get with their point and shoot camera or hobby SLR.
Q: Do you do destination photography? Our wedding will be in the Bahamas!
A: You bet! We need advance airline tickets for two, paid accommodation and at least two days on location prior to the event to scout locations and liaison with the resort staff. Other than that, our rates are still the same.
Q: I see the photographs in bridal magazines. Will all of my photos look like these?
A: Probably not. The editors of these magazines pour through thousands of images and select only the very best from hundreds of different photographers. Many of these shots are set up in a studio or with studio lights on location using professional models. Your wedding is an event that in many cases has uncontrolled conditions. While we can guarantee the best results possible in any given situation, one needs to understand that your church or reception area is not a controlled studio environment.
